BJ-LEAGUE

Palmer won't return to Evessa

The Japan Times

Reigning bj-league MVP David Palmer will not re-sign with the Osaka Evessa for the upcoming 2007-08 season, the team announced on Friday. The 25-year-old forward was the sixth man for the Kansai team for the past two seasons, helping the club win two consecutive championships. The Evessa also announced Friday that they have re-signed guard Matt Lottich, and landed free agent Mikey Marshall, who played for the Oita HeatDevils last season. Meanwhile, the bj-league announced that two scheduled exhibitions games between the Rizing Fukuoka, one of the two expansion teams for the 2007-08 season, and JBL side OSG Phoenix, on Sep. 11 and 12 in Fukuoka, have been canceled. OSG recently applied to join the bj-league for the 2008-09 season as an expansion team.
