Reysol eliminated in Emperor's Cup

Nagoya — Nagoya Grampus exacted revenge against Kashiwa Reysol, knocking out the J. League champions from the Emperor's Cup with a 9-8 victory on penalties on Wednesday.

Danilson hit the winning penalty after a 3-3 draw in 120 minutes of action that saw Kensuke Nagai strike twice off the bench, and Kashiwa's J. League season MVP Leandro Domingues also cap a double.

Nagoya defender Takahiro Masukawa sent the game into extra time with a goal during the dying minutes. Masato Kudo netted the second for Reysol midway through the second half.

Grampus sorely missed Australia striker Josh Kennedy, the J. League's top scorer two years running, and defensive linchpin Marcus Tulio Tanaka, who are both sidelined with injuries.
