S-Pulse, Ajax to hold charity match

Shimizu S-Pulse will play Ajax at Amsterdam in a relief effort charity match on April 13, the J. League first-division club announced Saturday.

S-Pulse will depart for the Netherlands on the April 11 for the game against Ajax, who are currently third in the Dutch top flight behind PSV and FC Twente.

Shimizu captain Shinji Ono won the 2002 UEFA Cup with Feyenoord, and coach Afshin Ghotbi served as an assistant on the South Korean national team under Dutch coach Guus Hiddink.

S-Pulse will be the first J. League team to raise money overseas for the victims of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
