Nagoya ready to sign Oita midfielder Kanazaki

NAGOYA (Kyodo) Nagoya Grampus are set to acquire midfielder Mu Kanazaki from relegated Oita Trinita, it was learned Sunday.

The two clubs have agreed on the transfer of the 20-year-old, according to senior Nagoya official Yoshihiro Fukushima, and the move is expected to be formalized in the coming days.

Kanazaki, who won his first senior international cap in a 2011 Asian Cup qualifier against Yemen in January, has scored seven goals in 82 matches in the J-League first division.

Oita were on the verge of bankruptcy before securing last month a rescue package worth around 600 million yen from a special J-League fund set aside for clubs facing financial difficulties.
