Injury sidelines Reds' Ponte

SAITAMA (AP) Urawa Reds midfielder Robson Ponte will be sidelined for three weeks because of a right hamstring injury, local media reported Wednesday.

Brazilian-born Ponte was injured in Saturday's 2-0 win over FC Tokyo and underwent tests the following day which revealed a pulled hamstring, the Nikkan Sports newspaper reported.

Ponte, the 2007 J. League player of the year, returned from a right knee injury on June 28 and has played in only two games this season for the first-place Reds.
