Nagoya defender Spilar sidelined

NAGOYA (Kyodo) Nagoya Grampus Eight's Slovakian defender Marek Spilar will be out for a month after suffering a fractured eye socket, the J. League first-division club said Monday.

The 31-year-old Spilar sustained the injury during Nagoya's 3-1 win at home to Jubilo Iwata on Saturday and was told by doctors he will need four weeks to make a full recovery.

Meanwhile, Yokohama F. Marinos' World Cup defender Yuji Nakazawa will be sidelined for up to three weeks with a pulled calf muscle, Yokohama officials said. Nakazawa complained of pain in his left calf during a training session last Thursday.
