The J. League fined first-division club FC Tokyo 10 million yen Wednesday for crowd trouble at a league match in July, which led to the arrest of one of its supporters.
The J. League said FC Tokyo failed to provide appropriate security measures at the July 9 league match against crosstown rival Tokyo Verdy at Ajinomoto Stadium, where three Tokyo Verdy employees suffered injuries in a clash between rival supporters.
An FC Tokyo supporter who injured the three was arrested later. The fine matched the highest ever handed to a club by the J. League for crowd trouble.
