JEF United Chiba midfielder Yuki Abe became the top vote getter for the second straight year as the 32-man list for the J. League All-Star match was announced Monday.
Abe received 294,260 among the 1.9 million valid votes cast in fan balloting for the Oct. 9 match at Oita Stadium Big Eye, which features 16 players each for the J-East and J-West sides.
Eighteen teams in the J. League first division are divided into two based on geographical locations for the annual All-Star match.
Chiba manager Ivica Osim will steer J-East while Yasuharu Sorimachi of Albirex Niigata has been named J-West manager this year.
Japan and Gamba Osaka defender Tsuneyasu Miyamoto topped the J-West squad with 283,301 votes. Cerezo Osaka midfielder Hiroaki Morishima was selected for the eighth time, the most among the players named to this year's squads.
