Ono scores in Feyenoord win

ROTTERDAM (Kyodo) Japan midfielder Shinji Ono scored his second goal of the season as Feyenoord beat Twente Enschede 3-1 at home in the Dutch League on Sunday.

Ono, who started the game as an attacking midfielder, latched onto a through-ball from Romeo Castelen to score an equalizer for the home side on the stroke of halftime, four minutes after Twente broke a scoreless deadlock.

Spurs held

LONDON (AP) Tottenham was held to a 0-0 draw by Premier League newcomer Norwich on Sunday, squandering a chance to take third place behind fellow London clubs Arsenal and Chelsea.

Tottenham, which had three players in England's 2-1 World Cup qualifying win over Poland on Wednesday, has yet to lose in five games this season but remains in sixth place after its third draw. Norwich has not won since gaining promotion to the Premier League and is in 17th place.

Jubilo fires Kuwahara

IWATA, Shizuoka Pref. (Kyodo) J. League first division club Jubilo Iwata, languishing near the bottom of the second-stage table, announced the dismissal of manager Takashi Kuwahara on Monday.

Chief technical director and former manager Masakazu Suzuki, 49, will take over from Kuwahara but the club suggested he will play the role of caretaker with a short-term deal.
