Ikeya quits as manager of Kashiwa

KASHIWA, Ibaraki Pref. (Kyodo) Tomoyoshi Ikeya on Friday resigned as manager of Kashiwa Reysol following a dismal run of results in this season's first-stage campaign.

Kashiwa started the season brightly under the 42-year-old with victories in its first two matches. But it failed to record another league win until its final game of the stage last Saturday and finished 15th in the 16-team league.
