Seigo Narazaki re-signs

NAGOYA (Kyodo) Nagoya Grampus Eight goalkeeper Seigo Narazaki, the highest-paid Japanese player with 100 million yen in annual salary this season, re-signed with the J. League first division side for the same amount on Sunday.

Narazaki had turned down offers from Nagoya in two rounds of talks but said he had already given up hope of receiving better terms on the third asking.

"Today I just came to stamp my seal on the contract. I understood there wasn't much hope (for a better deal)," he said after signing the deal in Toyota, Aichi Prefecture.

"Right now, I just want to focus on becoming a champion. More than ever, I have to produce results," he added.
