Capello set for Russia job: report

AFP-Jiji

MOSCOW — Russia will sign former England manager Fabio Capello to a two-year deal next week with a mission to guide the squad into the 2014 World Cup after a disappointing Euro 2012, a newspaper here claimed on Friday.

The Sport Express daily said the 66-year-old Italian has been offered up to ₡6 million ($7.3 million) per year to take over from Dutchman Dick Advocaat, who has left the team for PSV Eindhoven.

Capello, who came to Moscow on Thursday for talks with top Russian Football Union officials, has reportedly agreed to include Russian assistant coaches in his squad.

Under Capello, England qualified for Euro 2012 before the Italian resigned after falling out with Football Association chiefs.
