COLOGNE, Germany — Japan midfielder Shinji Kagawa will decide whether to stay with Borussia Dortmund or transfer after the German Cup final on May 12, German newspaper Bild reported Friday.
"The earliest I can finalize my decision will be after the German Cup final," Kagawa was quoted as saying in an interview with Bild amid transfer rumors.
Asked if he might stay with the Bundesliga champions amid enthusiastic calls from Dortmund fans, Kagawa said, "I've been moved by what I hear from fans and teammates. I'll take my time and consult with my agent before making the final decision."
Kagawa's contract with Dortmund expires in summer 2013. He has been linked to European giants such as Manchester United, Chelsea and AC Milan.
