Enschede Netherlands — A large section of the roof of a soccer stadium collapsed during off-season construction work Thursday, killing one person and leaving 10 hospitalized.
A total of 14 people were injured when the roof at the southern end of Dutch league team FC Twente's stadium collapsed around midday. Three people were treated at the scene, said Peter den Oudsten, mayor of the Dutch town of Enschede, where the stadium is located. He said dogs and cameras were being used to check if anybody else was still trapped at Grolsch Veste Stadium.
The cause of the collapse was not immediately known.
