New Inter boss praises Nagatomo

Milan — Gian Piero Gasperini has given Japan international defender Yuto Nagatomo his seal of approval in his first press conference as Inter Milan coach on Tuesday.

"He (Nagatomo) can operate well in every position he has played in so far," said Gasperini.

"He could even play as a center forward," joked the Italian before saying he could play him at right or left back or on either side of midfield.

Asked his thoughts on a Japanese player playing for a club as big as Inter, he said, "Playing for Inter means that you are a talented player."

Gasperini signed a two-year deal last month after previous Inter boss Leonardo left to negotiate an executive position with Paris Saint-Germain.
