DORTMUND, Germany (AP) Borussia Dortmund midfielder Shinji Kagawa hopes to be back in action before the end of the season after recovering from a foot injury.

The Japan international says he hopes to be playing in April. He spoke Thursday after returning from Japan, where he has been receiving treatment.

Bundesliga leader Dortmund had expected to be without Kagawa for the rest of the season after he broke a bone in his right foot at the Asian Cup in January. He had an operation in Tokyo on Jan. 31.
