SEOUL (AP) Manchester United midfielder Park Ji Sung and Monaco forward Park Chu Young have been included in South Korea's preliminary 30-player World Cup squad.
South Korea coach Huh Jung Moon says he will trim the squad to 23 after the team faces Ecuador in Seoul on May 16.
The star of the 2002 team, Ahn Jung Hwan, was also chosen Monday and will be vying for a third World Cup appearance. Goalkeeper Lee Woon Jae could make his fourth appearance, but former Fulham and Reading midfielder Seol Ki Hyeon was left off because he is still recovering from a knee operation.
Huh says his "team is as strong as any other team" at the World Cup "because each player has confidence and a fighting spirit."
