BRASILIA (AP) Orlando Pecanha de Carvalho, a Brazil defender from the 1958 World Cup-winning team, has died. He was 74.
Pecanha's family said he died Wednesday after entering the hospital earlier in the week in a battle with pneumonia. His family said he died of a heart attack.
Pecanha played 34 internationals for Brazil. He began his career in 1954 at Vasco de Gama and then moved to Argentina's Boca Juniors. He returned to Brazilian club Santos and played in the 1966 World Cup in England.
