Gulf clubs eye FC Tokyo's Cabore

Kyodo News

FC Tokyo striker Cabore could become the latest Brazilian to quit Japan for a move to the Middle East after Tokyo club president Yutaka Murabayashi said Sunday he has received enquiries about the 29-year-old from several clubs in the region.

"We have not had any formal offers yet but if something official arrives in then a transfer is a strong possibility," said Murabayashi.

A move to the Middle East would see Cabore follow in the footsteps of compatriots Davi and Leandro, who both left Japan during the current campaign to move to Qatar.

Davi joined Umm Salal from Nagoya Grampus while Leandro moved to Al Sadd from Gamba Osaka. Brazilian manager Caio Junior stepped down as Vissel Kobe boss in late June to manage Qatar League champions Al Gharafa.

In 2007, Magno Alves left Gamba under a cloud to join Saudi Arabia's two-time Asian Champions League winners Al Ittihad and another of Gamba's Brazilian marksman, Bare, moved to the United Arab Emirates last season to play for Al Ahli.
