SYDNEY (AP) Former Liverpool star Robbie Fowler is ready to help North Queensland Fury and the A-League by doing what he does best: scoring goals and staying in the limelight.
Rejecting suggestions he had come to Australia for a "getaway" to escape the spotlight in Britain, the former England international said at the A-League's official launch Monday that he wanted to put in the type of performances that will make him the center of attention.
"If you play football and if you're successful you're going to get headlines and people talking about you," Fowler said.
"I'm hoping for a lot more press because I want to be successful and I want to score a lot of goals. If I'm getting more attention it means I'm doing a good job."
