At Tokyo's Jingu Stadium, Shingo Kawabata had a game-tying double in the sixth inning and drove in both runs for Yakult, while Tatsuhiko Kinjo and Toshiki Kurobane homered for Yokohama in a game that ended in a nine-inning tie.

The Swallows are undefeated in their last 10 games, including one tie.

At Hiroshima's Mazda Stadium, Jun Hirose doubled in two runs in a four-run first inning and Kenta Maeda (9-9) threw 7⅓ shutout innings as Hiroshima beat Hanshin to snap a five-game losing streak.

The Carp's Kenta Kurihara had an RBI single in the first among his three hits.

PACIFIC LEAGUE

Hawks 1, Fighters 1 (11)

At Fukuoka's Yahoo Dome, Nobuhiro Matsuda hit a game-tying triple in the ninth inning off Yu Darvish as Fukuoka Softbank played out a tie with the Hokkaido Nippon Ham.

The Hawks now have a magic number of 17 to clinch their second straight Pacific League title. Darvish struck out 12 and allowed six hits in nine innings without a walk in a 127-pitch outing.

The Nippon Ham ace was looking for his 17th win of the season to surpass his career high of 16 wins in 2008.

Seiichi Uchikawa led off Softbank's ninth inning with a base hit.

One out later, Matsuda tripled off the wall in right-center, scoring pinch runner Ryuma Kidokoro from second base.

Hawks starter Hiroki Yamada allowed one unearned run in seven-plus innings.

Lions 4, Eagles 2

At Seibu Dome, Seibu pounded out 13 hits off ERA leader Masahiro Tanaka and sent Tohoku Rakuten to its third consecutive loss.

Takumi Kuriyama had three hits and scored twice. Takuya Hara hit a two-run double that pushed the Lions' lead to 3-0 in the second inning.

Takayuki Kishi (6-7) held the Eagles to two runs in eight innings before rookie Kazuhisa Makita pitched the ninth for his 14th save. Tanaka (15-5) had his winning streak snapped at five starts.

Buffaloes 3, Marines 2

At Chiba's QVC Marine Field, Aarom Baldiris hit a tiebreaking solo homer in the eighth inning as Orix rallied to beat Chiba Lotte for its third straight victory.
