India a natural partner for JapanBy BHANU MUSUNOORU
Hyderabad, India
Regarding the Sept. 17 Kyodo article "Anti-Japan protests a double-edged sword": India and its people would welcome the Japanese moving their factories from China to India. We are your natural partners in Asia. You should now realize that, after the recent incidents in China, India would be a better destination for your technology and capital. We don't forget friends! The entire domestic auto industry in India is thankful to the Japanese and the Suzuki corporation. In the 1980s, they brought their expertise and invested time and money to make Maruti Suzuki (and our auto industry) what it is today. The Indian government should send a high-level delegation to Tokyo at once to seize the opportunity for encouraging more Japanese businesses to move to India. The opinions expressed in this letter to the editor are the writer's own and do not necessarily reflect the policies of The Japan Times.
