High-tech fair touts energy-saving ware

Energy-saving products and health care devices and services that use cutting-edge information technology will be among the attention-grabbing exhibits at an annual major electronics fair in October, organizers said Thursday.

The CEATEC event, running Oct. 2 to 6 at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba, will also have a special exhibition to feature collaboration between the IT and electronics industry and the automobile industry.

Automakers such as Toyota Motor Corp. will display the latest innovations in Japan's manufacturing sector.

The organizers said they are aiming to attract 200,000 visitors to this year's show, surpassing last year's 170,000.
