Short-stay spa plan in Hakone; oyster bar in Aoyama; New Year's buffet with Skytree views
Lunch and spa day-trip to Hakone
The Odakyu Hotel de Yama in the resort area of Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture, is offering a short, six-hour plan featuring its hot-spring bath, through April 25. The plan is intended to make it easier for busy people to get away and relax.
The hotel is located alongside Lake Ashi and customers can take in the area's abundant natural surroundings with the splendid winter view of Mount Fuji.
The plan includes lunch at the hotel's Japanese restaurant, Tsutsuji no Chaya, or French restaurant, Vert Bois, with use of a standard twin room. The hotel's natural hot-spring bath is weakly alkaline and water flows plentifully. Amenities such as shampoo, rinse and body soap are all provided.
The plan is available at ¥8,800 per person for double occupancy, including taxes and a service charge. Check-in is at 2 p.m. and checkout is at 8 p.m. the same day.

Oysters on the half shell in Aoyama
On Dec. 10 at 6?p.m., a new restaurant and bar called Raw Bar & Wine 246 St. will open on the sixth floor of the La Porte Aoyama building in the Aoyama district of Tokyo.
The restaurant will offer fresh seafood products such as sashimi as well as various kinds of raw oyster on the half shell that start from ¥400 apiece. Several small dishes, including salad, cheese, nuts and desserts, are also available.
There is also a separate menu including ramen, curry and yakisoba stir-fried noodles from sister restaurant Aoyama Shokudo on the first basement floor of the building.
The restaurant opens from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. and, as its name suggests, is located on Route 246 (Aoyama-dori). Guests can enjoy selected but reasonable wines while watching the scenery of the bustling capital.

New Year's buffet with Skytree views
To celebrate the New Year, the Asakusa View Hotel will open Musashi, its buffet restaurant and bar on the 26th floor, for a special buffet from Jan. 1 to 3.
Since the new landmark Tokyo Skytree opened across the river from Asakusa, the Asakusa View has been the tower's "official friendship hotel," and the restaurant has been popular as there are unobstructed views of the tower, not to mention a variety of food for the buffet.
Musashi offers more than 50 kinds of dishes, including Japanese, Western and Chinese cuisine, and during this period, the restaurant will offer special dishes featuring traditional Japanese New Year items.
The buffet is available for lunch and dinner, each at ¥5,775 per person and at ¥4,042 per child. The lunch buffet is for 90 minutes from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1:30 to 3 p.m. and 3:15 to 4:45 p.m. The dinner buffet is for 1 hour and 45 minutes from 5:15 to 7 p.m. and 7:15 to 9 p.m. The prices include tax and a service charge.
