Fugu dinner course at Hakone hotel
Through Feb. 29, 2012, the Odakyu Hotel de Yama in the resort area of Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture, is offering a special winter accommodation plan that comes with a special Japanese kaiseki dinner featuring fugu, a seasonal fish for winter in Japan.
After guests take in the scenery and the fresh, crisp winter air around the hotel's vast 15-hectare garden, with panoramic vistas of Lake Ashi and Mount Fuji, they can relax in the hotel's natural hot spring bath. Later, they can enjoy a special Japanese course menu with a variety of fugu dishes, such as usuzukuri (raw, translucent slices), fried fugu and fugu hot pot. Also, hot sake flavored with grilled fugu fins is available at an additional cost.
Western- or Japanese-style breakfast is included in the plan.
The plan is available from ¥23,150 per person, for double occupancy, including taxes and a service charge.

Whole chicken, roast beef for takeout
The Hotel East 21 Tokyo is preparing meals for the holiday season, offering roast chicken and beef for takeout from the hotel's continental restaurant, Brasserie Harmony, through Dec. 31.
Brasserie Harmony's whole roast chicken comes with a special sauce and appetizers, such as glazed carrots, for ¥3,800 (serves four) or ¥2,500 (serves two). The roast beef is made from select Japanese beef and also comes with a special sauce and appetizers for ¥12,000 (serves five).
Also, the hotel's Chinese restaurant, Toen, will offer for takeout whole fried herb-fed chicken, with lemon, spices and fried bread, for ¥4,200 (serves four).
Prices include tax. Orders must be made at least three days in advance and will only be taken through Dec. 27.

Romantic Christmastime in Kobe
The ANA Crowne Plaza Kobe is offering an accommodation plan to only one couple per day through Dec. 25, which the hotel presents as a romantic Christmas break.
The package, called Christmas Cinderella Stay, includes a special beauty treatment course for the woman and free white wine in the room. After checking in to the suite filled with Christmas decorations, the woman can get made up by professional hair and makeup artists. Then the couple can spend 30 minutes alone at the hotel's chapel, also decorated for Christmas. After that, the couple will have a special Italian course dinner at the hotel's European restaurant, Level 36, which has splendid night views of Kobe.
After breakfast the next day, a London-style black cab will pick up the couple and drive them on a sightseeing tour of Kobe for 90 minutes.
The plan costs ¥40,000 per person, ¥50,000 per person on Saturdays. Prices include tax and a service charge. Reservations are required three days in advance.
