Dining at the world's table

The Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel in Shibuya, Tokyo, is holding a "From the World Dining Table" dinner-course fair at the Garden Kitchen Caramelo on its main lobby floor, through April 30.

The fair offers authentic Portuguese cuisine, such as bacalhau (croquette with cod), roast pork seasoned with port wine, the Portuguese dessert pao de lo which is said to be the origin of castella sponge cake and traditional Japanese popular confectionery.

Except Sundays and holidays, the dinner is available from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. (last order) and costs ¥3,900. The restaurant also offers a healthy dinner for children.

For the relief of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami victims in northeast Japan, the hotel has a donation box at the counter. The collected money will go to the devastated area through the Japanese Red Cross Society.

Citrus fruit, sherbet desserts

The Hotel Century Southern Tower in Tokyo is serving a spring special dessert called Citrus Fruits Jelly with Fresh Fruit Sherbet at its South Court lounge and bar through April 30.

Jelly and sherbet with seasonal fresh fruits such as mango, grapefruit and melon make for a fresh, seasonal dessert that will even appeal to those without a sweet tooth.

There are only 20 servings per day during tea time, from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at ¥1,350, or ¥1,559 with coffee or tea.

South Court is on the 20th floor. Guests can enjoy sweets with coffee during bar time, from 5:30 p.m. to midnight, as well as at tea time.

'Gorgeous' Nikko stay plan

To mark the completion of its renovation and reopening April 1, the Morino Hotel in Oku-Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture, is offering a special accommodation plan through July 15 (except Golden Week).

Based on the concept of "gorgeous, natural," which was inspired by the beauty the Nikko Toshogu Shrine World Heritage site and the four distinct seasons of the town, the hotel was redesigned over a period of 3 months to create a harmonious blend of nature and modernity.

Only three Japanese and Western mixed-style rooms per day will be available. Prices range from ¥11,000 to ¥17,000 per person, including a one-night stay, dinner and breakfast buffet.

One upgraded room with a private open-air bath will be offered per day at ¥20,000 to ¥25,000.

From the accommodation charges, ¥1,000 will be donated to the victims of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami via the Japanese Red Cross, and this applies to all the hotel's accommodation plans.
