Hanami plan for overseas guests
The Grand Prince Hotel Akasaka is offering a special accommodation package, Hanami Stay, to attract visitors, especially those from overseas, who want to enjoy the Japanese spring tradition of hanami, or cherry blossom viewing.
The Tokyo hotel is close to many famous spots for cherry blossom viewing, such as Hibiya Park, Yasukuni Shrine and Chidorigafuchi Park by the Imperial Palace.
The plan is available until April 11 and includes a map in English or Chinese on hanami spots around the hotel and a mat for guests to sit on where they please to enjoy the cherry blossoms outdoors. The first 100 guests who stay using this plan will each receive a special sakura (cherry blossom)-shaped cell-phone charm made from old cherry wood from the Imperial Palace moat.
The nightly rate is ¥9,500 per person for double occupancy in a twin or double room; the same rate applies for three people in a family suite. For four or five people in a family suite or Japanese-style suite, the cost is ¥8,200 per person, per night. An additional ¥1,500 per person will be charged for stays on Fridays the day before national holidays. Prices include service charge and tax.

Spring flavors by a historic park
The Conrad Tokyo's restaurants and bars are offering special spring menus.
At the Michelin-starred restaurant China Blue, the Cherry Blossom Course is served for lunch (¥7,800) and dinner (¥22,800) through April 6. Colorful dishes that reflect the spirit of spring include soy sauce marinated duck with spicy sauce and cherry blossom petals, sakura shrimp seafood soup and jelly with pineapple mousse.
The hotel's other Michelin-starred restaurant, Gordon Ramsay at The Conrad Tokyo, offers the Spring Menu dinner course for ¥15,500, serving the creations of the legendary British chef in an elegant setting with splendid night views of the metropolis through the restaurant's 7-meter-tall windows. The Spring Menu is available until late May. Spring Afternoon Tea is served between 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. through April 15 at the TwentyEight Bar and Lounge, which overlooks Hamarikyu Gardens and Tokyo Bay. Among the finger foods offered with a selection of tea or coffee are raspberry scones, cherry pies, strawberry mousse decorated with cherry blossom petal jelly, seasonal sandwiches and quiche. The tea set is ¥3,400, while two hours of unlimited sparkling wine can be added for ¥5,500.

Hilton Osaka celebrates Miffy
The Hilton Osaka will open rooms featuring Miffy, a popular Dutch picture book character, on April 1. These are the first official Miffy rooms in the Kansai region.
Under a deal with Dick Bruna Japan Inc., the rooms will open to coincide with the 55th anniversary of the character's creation.
Images of Miffy can be found on various elements in each of the rooms, from card keys, wallpaper, lighting, bedding, amenities, welcome cookies and breakfast items. With an additional cost, a special Miffy dinner is also available.
The room costs from ¥25,400 per person, per night at double occupancy, including breakfast, tax and service charge. Ten rooms are available per day.
