Westin's Austrian Fair hits 10th year

The Westin Tokyo will hold its annual Austrian Fair at The Terrace restaurant from Mar. 8 to April 4.

In its 10th year, the fair offers authentic Austrian flavors by inviting Executive Sous-Chef Bernhard Frais and Pastry Chef Thomas Loran from the prestigious Hotel Imperial in Vienna to cook at The Terrace.

The buffet will be prepared for lunch and dinner with a wide variety of dishes, including traditional Wiener schnitzel, goulash and strudel.

The lunch buffet is ¥4,500 (¥5,500 on weekends and holidays) for adults and ¥2,400 for children. The dinner buffet is ¥6,800 (¥8,000 on weekends and holidays) for adults and ¥3,400 (¥4,000 on weekends and holidays) for children.

Also during the Austrian Fair, the Westin Deli will have available for takeout the Imperial Torte, the famous, sumptuous chocolate cake from the Hotel Imperial. The Westin Deli is next to The Terrace.

As part of the festivities, from Mar. 8 to 31, The Lounge in the hotel's lobby will serve traditional Sacher torte (¥800) and a range of Viennese-style coffees starting from ¥1,400.

All prices include tax and service charge.

Cut-price wines at ekki Bar & Grill

The contemporary restaurant ekki Bar & Grill at the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi is running a special wine promotion through the end of March.

Diners will receive a 50 percent discount on their choice of bottled wine from the wine list (excluding cult wines).

The discount applies to course and a la carte dinners. Dinner courses start from ¥8,800, and a la carte menus start from ¥1,700 for appetizers and from ¥3,200 for main dishes.

The restaurant is open for dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m daily. Reservations are recommended.

Kobe Sheraton Indonesian Fair

The Kobe Bay Sheraton Hotel & Towers will hold an Indonesia Fair featuring special lunch and dinner buffets from March 1 to 31, with special events on March 13 and 14.

I Made Putra, award-winning executive chef of the Kobe Sheraton's sister hotel, Laguna Resort & Spa, Nusa Dua, Bali, will bring his local flavors to Kobe. Some 80 buffet items include typical dishes such as nasi goreng (a type of fried rice), Javanese curry and desserts such as tropical fruits.

Held at the Garden Cafe restaurant, the lunch buffet costs ¥2,800 (¥3,400 on weekends and holidays) for adults and ¥1,700 (¥2,100 on weekends and holidays) for children aged 6-12. The dinner buffet costs ¥3,500 (¥4,400 on weekends and holidays) for those aged 13 to 60. For those 60 and older, the dinner buffet costs ¥2,450 (¥3,080 on weekends and holidays), while children 6-12 cost ¥2,200 (¥2,640 on weekends and holidays). All prices include tax and a service charge.

On March 13, a Javanese-style wedding showcasing traditional Indonesian rituals and costumes will be staged between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the hotel's Ocean Hall. Admission is free. On March 13 and 14, Indonesian food items, fashion items, furniture and other goods will be exhibited and sold between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the atrium court of the Urban Gourmet Port building next to the hotel.
