Christmas cooking in English
The Grand Hyatt Tokyo will hold a seminar in English on homemade cooking for the Christmas holidays at The French Kitchen Brasserie & Bar on Dec. 7.
From 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., executive chef Josef Budde will demonstrate his culinary skills in creating New England clam chowder, roast chicken with cranberry relish and gingerbread souffle with cinnamon ice cream, recipes of which will be provided to participants to take home so that they can try cooking the dishes as a part of their Christmas fare.
A dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. will feature the three dishes plus a special Christmas champagne with pomegranate bark.
The seminar and dinner costs ¥15,000 for adults and ¥7,500 for children aged between 4 and 6 (soft drinks will be served instead of champagne).

Dom Perignon Premium Lunch
The Strings by InterContinental Tokyo hotel is serving a Dom Perignon Premium Lunch on weekends and holidays through Dec. 20 at its French Fusion Restaurant & Bar, The Dining.
Ninety minutes of free-flowing Dom Perignon Vintage 2000 can be enjoyed with a four-dish prix fixe lunch course for ¥15,000. There will be up to eight selections of starter, appetizer, main dish and dessert to choose from.
The lunch is available from 11:30 a.m., and last orders are at 2:30 p.m.

Lyon food lionized in Yokohama
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of sister-city relations between Lyon and Yokohama, the Pan Pacific Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu is featuring the French city's local cuisine at the Cafe Tosca's dinner buffet through Dec. 18.
Lyon, widely regarded as the food capital of France, is home to many popular restaurants and is close to the famous Beaujolais wine-producing region to the north.
The "Night Kitchen Stadium — Bistro Style" buffet will offer, among other items, quiche, pa^te and various wine-based stews, all complemented by a selection of fine wines.
The buffet is available from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. (last orders 9:30 p.m.), and costs ¥4,700 on weekdays, ¥5,600 on weekends and holidays and ¥2,800 for children between 6 and 12 years old.
