Grand place to have a beer
The terrace of the Grand Hyatt Tokyo's Oak Door restaurant has been transformed into a beer garden for the summer.
Through Sept. 30, the Terrace Summer Beer Garden is offering a two-hour, all-you-can-eat-and-drink course for ¥6,300, which includes two kinds of Japanese draft beer, soft drinks and eight different menus. The course is available between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Through Aug. 31, between 5:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., there are discount (¥1,500 each) a la carte selections, including crab cornmeal fritters with homemade tartar sauce, BBQ chicken wings with blue cheese sauce, and prawn cocktail with avocado and horseradish, each of which comes with a glass of beer. During this period, Japanese draft beer is ¥500 per glass.

Free concert in Yokohama
There's a free concert in the lobby of the InterContinental Yokohama Grand on Aug. 20 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the opening of Yokohama port and the 18th anniversary of the hotel's opening, which falls on the day.
The Akai Kutsu (Red Shoes) Junior Chorus, regulars at the hotel's annual Christmas concert, will perform songs related to Yokohama and the sea. The official mascot of Y150 (Yokohama port's 150th anniversary celebration events), "Tanemaru," will be a special guest at the concert.
The 30-minute concert will be held in the hotel's first-floor atrium lobby from 2:30 p.m. and from 5:20 p.m.

A special Family Stay Plan for the school summer holidays is available at The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka, through Aug. 31.
The plan offers a one-night stay in adjoining rooms (Superior and Suite rooms) or in connecting rooms (Superior Rooms with a connecting door) for families of three or four people.
The plan includes a buffet breakfast at the Splendido restaurant, complimentary soft drinks from the room's minibar and an original hotel ecobag. For children under 12, there's an assortment of sweets, slippers, a toothbrush, the hotel's original teddy bear and a free ice-cream ticket for the Lobby Lounge and Splendido.
The plan is ¥64,000 (Sunday to Friday) and ¥84,000 (Saturday, Sunday and days prior to national holidays) for adjoining rooms, and ¥54,000 and ¥74,000 for connecting rooms.
