Hong Kong roast at Westin, Mother's Day at Conrad, and Happy Thursday at the Hilton

Westin host Hong Kong roast

The Ryutenmon Chinese restaurant at the Westin Hotel Tokyo will host a Hong Kong Roasted Food Fair from April 29 to May 6, between 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Chinese chefs will be jetting in for the restaurant's annual Golden Week holiday promotion to prepare traditional Hong Kong roasts.

Freshly roasted ducks, chickens and whole piglets will hang from food stalls in the restaurant, re-creating the atmosphere of Hong Kong's famous street food stalls.

Some 20 a la carte selections will include char siu (Cantonese roast pork, ¥1,800), crispy pork back ribs (¥2,000), roast duck (¥1,800), salt-roasted tontoro (marbled belly pork, ¥1,700) and marinated chicken (¥2,000), as well as two special dinner courses (¥12,000 and ¥17,000).

During the fair, Ryutenmon's original-blend 30-year-old Shaoxing Chinese rice wine can be enjoyed at a special price of ¥10,000 per 330-ml bottle.

Conrad Tokyo to pamper moms

For Mother's Day (Sunday, May 10), the Conrad Tokyo is offering special accommodation, restaurant and spa plans.

From May 6 to 9, two people can stay for the price of one in a City Room, Bay View Room or Bay View Suite. The plan starts from ¥34,500 per night and includes breakfast.

The hotel's three restaurants will each serve a special celebration lunch and dinner on May 9 and 10.

Cerise by Gordon Ramsay, where you can savor menus created by legendary British chef Gordon Ramsay, will prepare a prix-fixe lunch course (¥6,800 per person) of appetizer, main dish and dessert. There will be a chocolate gift for moms to take home.

The Michelin-starred China Blue will offer a special lunch course, with five platters of creative modern Cantonese cuisine, soup and desserts for families to share, and moms will receive a gift of Chinese tea to take home. The course is ¥40,000 for four people and ¥10,000 per each additional person.

At Japanese restaurant Kazahana, a ¥10,000-per-person traditional kaiseki course with seasonal delicacies will be free for moms in groups of five people or more. The course is available at lunch and dinner.

Mizuki Spa & Fitness is offering the Dear Mama plan through June 30 (¥20,000 per person). It includes a 30-minute aroma bath, 60-minute facial or body treatment, Mizuki's original herb tea and dessert service, and a trial set of Lyomer spa products as a gift.

The Conrad Tokyo is in the Tokyo Shiodome Building, a one-minute walk from Shiodome Station or a seven-minute walk from Shinbashi Station. For more details or reservations, call (03) 6388-8000.

Happy Thursdays at the Hilton

The Hilton Tokyo has recently launched a three-hour "Happy Thursday" party plan for visitors to the Marble Lounge in the hotel lobby on Thursday evening during its happy hours (6 p.m.-9 p.m.).

The plan includes an assortment of five kinds of canapes, unlimited wine, beer and a menu of eight different cocktails for ¥2,800 per person.
