Driven to indulgence at the Hilton

The Hilton Tokyo has created a "Sporting Luxe" room package that combines the indulgence of driving a luxury sports car with an overnight stay in a suite on the hotel's Deluxe Floors.

During the stay, you can be the "owner" of the recently launched Jaguar XF, a midsize sports coupe with a design heavily influenced by classic Jaguars from the 1960s.

Two types of rooms are available. The new Deluxe Art Suite, decorated with contemporary fine art, is a collaboration between the hotel and the renowned Roentgenwerke AG art gallery. The 66-sq.-meter Deluxe Tower Suites are smart and luxurious, with a spacious living room, luxurious bedroom and views of the Shinjuku skyline.

The package also includes a special 27-hour stay (check in at noon, check out at 3 p.m. the next day), a famous Hilton Breakfast either in the Marble Lounge or served in your room, complementary access to the 24/7 Fitness center and a variety of exclusive Jaguar brand goods such as a Jaguar cosmetics pouch and Jaguar magazine.

Rates start from ¥85,400 per room (up to 2 people). The package will be available through Dec. 31.

Conrad Tokyo's Valentine plans

The Conrad Tokyo will serve special dinner courses for St. Valentine's Day at its three restaurants.

The modern French restaurant Gordon Ramsay at Conrad Tokyo, the only fine-dining establishment in Asia where famed British chef Gordon Ramsay's menus are served, will offer a Valentine-theme dinner at the special price of ¥10,000 per person. The course is available Feb. 14, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

At the Chinese restaurant China Blue, which earned a Michelin star for two consecutive years, diners can enjoy a special dinner featuring such luxury ingredients as swallow's nest and lobster while enjoying night views of the Tokyo Bay area. The dinner course is ¥60,000 for two people and is available from Feb. 13 to 15, between 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Japanese restaurant Kazahana is preparing a unique meal that will enable diners to enjoy kaiseki (traditional course meal) and teppanyaki (hot-plate steak) in one course. Chefs will cook ingredients of your choice in front of you. The course, limited to eight people, costs ¥25,000 per person. The dinner is served Feb. 14, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Washington wine tasting

On Thursday, Jan. 29, the Washington Wine Commission will hold its biennial Taste Washington event in the Galaxy Ballroom of the Westin Hotel in Ebisu, Tokyo. It's a chance to sample more than 150 wines from over 40 Washington State wineries, and many of the winemakers will be on hand to answer questions.

The event will take place from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and will include a buffet dinner.

Tickets are ¥6,000 (¥5,000 in advance) and are available from the Washington Wine Commission's Web site www.washingtonwine.jp
