Master of wine selections at Conrad
The Conrad Tokyo has introduced a Grand Wine List selected by Ron Georgiou, its master of wine — one of the most respected wine qualifications in the world.
To mark the event, the hotel has organized several special meals that will enhance the dining experience at its award-winning restaurants by pairing dishes with Georgiou's wine selections.
At Gordon Ramsay at the Conrad Tokyo, there will be a special lunch and dinner Oct. 29. The five-course Ladies Lunch, served with four wines selected by Georgiou, will be available for ¥7,000 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. From 7 p.m., the six-course Master of Wine Dinner, with five wines, is available for ¥16,000.
From 7 p.m. on Oct. 31, an East Meets West Master of Wine Dinner will be served at the China Blue Chinese restaurant, which received one star in Michelin's Tokyo Guide 2008. The dinner consists of five dishes paired with six wine selections and costs ¥16,000.
The Conrad Tokyo is located in the Tokyo Shiodome Building, a one-minute walk from Shiodome Station.

Stars out for celebratory dinner
The French Food Culture Center in Tokyo will hold a gala dinner to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Japan-France relations in conjunction with the Royal Park Hotel, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
With the FFCC's support, The Royal Park Hotel has invited a number of chefs from France to its various culinary fairs. The Festin en constellation d'etoiles (Feast from a Galaxy of Stars) will be one of the largest, bringing together 10 top-class French chefs, many from Michelin- starred restaurants.
Among the invited chefs are Regis Marcon (pictured) from the three-star Regis et Jacques Marcon, Alain Soliveres from the two-star Taillevent and Yves Thuries, the only recipient of the MOF (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) in two categories. Representing Japan's French chefs is Katsuhiro Nakamura, who cooked for the world's G8 leaders at the Toyako summit at the Winsor Hotel Toya Resort and Spa in Hokkaido in July.
Reception and aperitifs are from 6:30 p.m., and the dinner starts at 7 p.m. The dinner is ¥40,000 per person, including drinks.
The Royal Park Hotel is a five-minute walk from Ningyo-cho Station on the Asakusa Subway Line; there is a direct link between the hotel and Suitengu-mae Station on the Hanzomon Subway Line.

Henry VIII fare at the Imperial
The Imperial Hotel Tokyo has created a special sweet commemorating the release of "The Other Boleyn Girl," a British movie directed by Justin Chadwick.
Maids of Honor, a traditional English curd-cheese pastry, are said to have been a favorite of Henry VIII and his second wife, Anne Boleyn, who was the mother of Queen Elizabeth I. The Imperial Hotel has produced a 21st-century version, based on the traditional recipe, using a flaky piecrust, cottage cheese, eggs, butter and almonds, with a few currants on top as an accent.
The cakes are available at the Gargantua hotel shop on the first floor of the main building from Oct. 25 to Nov. 25, and they cost ¥1,050 for a pack of four.
The hotel is a three-minute walk from Hibiya Station or a five-minute walk from Yurakucho and Ginza stations.
