California flavors in Yokohama

The Pan Pacific Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu is holding a "California Scenes" dinner fair at its Cafe Tosca Mediterranean restaurant.

In a resortlike atmosphere bathed in sunlight and under palm trees, Cafe Tosca's popular "Action Stage" chef's corner is decked out like Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, and fresh seafood is prepared and cooked in front of the diners.

Among the menu selections are barbecued brochette grilled just the way you like it, the restaurant's popular hearth-baked pizza, California rolls from Little Tokyo in Los Angeles, Chinese chicken salad from San Francisco's China Town, etc. And to drink, there's wine from Beringer Vineyards of California's Napa Valley.

There are live music performances every night to add to the relaxing, laid-back California mood. On June 14 (Sat.), a special live show and prize lottery are planned.

The fair runs through June 30, between 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Prices are ¥4,700 on weekdays and ¥5,600 on Sat., Sun. and holidays for adults, and ¥2,800 for children (age 6 to 12).

The hotel is a one-minute walk from Minato-Mirai Station. For more information, call (045) 682-2218.
