HOTELS & RESTAURANTS
Chinese New Year, Strawberry tea sets and Orca wine
Lunar New Year celebration
To celebrate the Chinese New Year on Feb. 7, the Hilton Tokyo's Dynasty restaurant is preparing special lunch and dinner menus from Feb. 5 to 8.
The restaurant will offer three full-course menus and nine a-la-carte selections, including traditional steamed New Year's rice cakes, colorful dim sum, sauteed lobster, and other Chinese New Year's dishes said to ensure longevity and prosperity, as well as staple delicacies such as braised shark's fin, Peking duck, bird's nest soup and more.
To help wash down the traditional cuisine, Dynasty will serve a special Chinese rice wine called Fresh 15-year-old Shoko Daietsu Kishu priced from ¥3,465 (180 ml) and bottles of a rare 30-year-old Shoko Daietsu Kishu for ¥57,750 (680 ml).
The three courses are ¥11,111, ¥13,333 and ¥15,555, including tax and service. Course menus are available for two or more people.
The Hilton Tokyo is a 10-minute walk from the West Exit of Shinjuku Station. Dynasty is open between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. for lunch, and 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. for dinner.

Are you going to strawberry fair?
It's strawberry season, and the Hotel Nikko Tokyo is holding a dessert fair featuring the popular fruit at its second-floor Veranda lounge and bar.
Enjoy a three-layer Strawberry Afternoon Tea Set (¥2,100) piled high with strawberry cakes and scones. Coffee or tea is served with the set, and strawberry milk tea, a fresh strawberry drink and a strawberry cocktail (¥1,260 each) are also available.
Or try the Strawberry Plate Set, with its fresh strawberries and ganache, strawberry blancmange and cakes and a glass of champagne, all for ¥2,940.
The fair runs through Feb. 29, between 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The Hotel Nikko Tokyo is adjacent to Daiba Station on the Yurikamome Line or a 10-minute walk from Tokyo Teleport Station on the Rinkai Line.

Pink Cow wine party
The Pink Cow wine bar in Tokyo's Aoyama will be the venue for a New Year's wine party hosted by Orca International, Japan's biggest importer of Oregon and Washington wines.
The Thursday, Jan. 24 event will be the last Orca wine party until summer. The evening's festivities will include an open bar serving premium Pacific Northwest wines and beers, a buffet dinner and — as the organizers promise — "groovy" music spun by live DJs, all for ¥4,500 per person.
E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your place at the bar. The Pink Cow is located at 1-3-18 Shibuya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. Call (03) 3406-5597 for directions.
