Festival promotes some clowning around
By JAE LEE
According to the organizers of The Clown Theater Festival in Tokyo (CTF), the declining population of clowns in Japan and overseas is just as concerning as the nation's declining birth rate.
The CTF hopes to increase their numbers and says, "No worries, trust us to make you and your children laugh."
The annual festival will be held at Space Zero in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, this year.
The CTF may be the perfect way to introduce an old form of entertainment to your children. With organizers stressing "no worries" and the clowns appearing on a stage, it's doubtful kids will pick up that spooky clown vibe from this group.
The Clown Theater Festival in Tokyo takes place April 3-4. Tickets cost ¥3,500 for adults and ¥2,500 for children. For details, call (042) 367-3995 or visit www.spacezero.co.jp/ticket/
