Aosando market set to cater to shoppers, features German electronic-music band

Hidden in between Aoyama Street and Omotesando, there is a back alley called Aosando that connects the Aoyama and Omotesando districts.

Alley sale: The theme for this year's Aosando Market is "glass."

Aosando is lined with small shops, is about 300 meters long and has a much homier vibe than trendy Omotesando. This year, the Aosando Market will feature five outdoor market spaces spread out along the street. The theme is glass, though the items will not be limited to glassware. Kimura Glass, the winner of 2009's Wallpaper Design Awards' Best Glasses Award, will be digging out special items for the market. On Jan. 11, starting from 5 p.m. there also will be a live performance by Berlin-based electronic-music band Jahcoozi at the stall furnished by fashion store Wut Berlin.
