Famed ikebana artist Shogo Kariyazaki will hold his annual exhibition of his works at Tokyo's Meguro Gajoen, a multipurpose community space. Titled "The World of Florist Shogo Kariyazaki," and running Oct. 29-Nov. 13, the exhibition will take place in the rooms that surround the famous "100-Step Staircase," a 70-year-old wooden structure adorned with scrolls.
Kariyazaki, known for his unique use of colors and a flamboyant yet sensitive flower-arrangement style, will decorate the space with arrangements that include chrysanthemums and lilies.
The exhibit will be open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission is 1,000 yen at the door. For more information, contact Meguro Gajoen, 1-8-1, Shimomeguro, Meguro Ward, Tokyo, at (03) 3491-4111.
