Strictly ballroom for 2,000 dancers

Nearly two thousand people will be invited by the Japan Ballroom Dance Federation to the 26th Japan International Dance Championship which will be held on June 11 and 12 at Tokyo's Budokan Hall. About 950 pairs of amateur and professional dancers from Japan and abroad will compete in the championship.

Applicants for the invitation must send a post office issued postcard, writing down the preferred date (June 11 or 12), his or her name, address, occupation, age and telephone number, to: Inter Present The Japan Times-kakari, 1-22-10-401 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo 104-0061.

The postcard must arrive on or before May 27. Lucky applicants will be given invitation cards for each of which two tickets, worth 3,000 yen, will be given at Budokan Hall.

Budokan Hall is near Kudanshita Subway Station.
