Characters past and future
Character Expo 2005, which is being held through April 3 in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture, features over 100 much-loved toy figures.
The event is organized under the themes of past, present and future. The "past" section contains 20 nostalgic characters from the past such as Koeda-chan and Gonta-kun while the "present" part displays over 60 characters that are popular today. The future section features characters drawn or invented by up-and-coming artists specially for this event.
Character Expo 2005 (Kyara Haku) is open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. (to 9 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays) through April 3 at Tokyo Bay LaLaport Center Court (2-1-1 Hama-cho, Funabashi). A seven-minute walk from JR Minami Funabashi Station.
