Artist Rintaro Hara creates visual analogies of virtual reality created by computers and the Internet. The main feature in the "Ishin Denshin (Understanding Without the Medium of Language)" exhibition, running through March 29 at the Plus Minus gallery in Tokyo's Ginza, is an installation composed of objects in a representation of the interconnected nature of the Internet.
In a control booth, visitors push air pumps that apply pressure to water in pipes which activates sensors connected to the objects.
"Ishin Denshin" is open 10:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. through March 29 (closed Wednesdays) in the Plus Minus Gallery on the 3rd floor of TEPCO Ginza-kan Building (6-11-1 Ginza, Chuo-ku. Tel. 03-3575-0456) behind Matsuzakaya department store. Free admission.
