Prize-winning pottery

Works by more than 40 artists who have received the Japan Ceramics Society Prize will be on display at Wako department store in Tokyo's Ginza from Jan. 19 to 29.

The prestigious prize is given annually to a ceramic artist who has created outstanding work during the year.

The artists to be featured will include Sekisui Ito, Shigetaka Kato, Kakiemon Sakaida and Goro Suzuki.

The exhibition will be held 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m. (to 5 p.m. on the last day), Jan. 19-29 (closed Jan. 23) at Wako Hall on the sixth floor of the Wako department store, tel. (03) 3562-2111, at the Ginza 4-chome intersection. Admission is free.
