Festival of contemporary dance

A contemporary dance festival featuring the work of upcoming choreographers will be held in the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse (Akarenga Soko) from Jan. 17.

The program and schedule of the "Yokohama Dance Collection R" are as follows:

"Yokohama Dance Collection" exhibition, Jan. 17-Feb. 20 (admission free).

"one piece" (choreographed by Un Yamada) and "Incompatible yet one" (Jung Young Doo) Jan. 22, 4 p.m. 3,000 yen advance, 3,500 yen at the door.

"Mekuranraku" (Masako Yasumoto) and "Koshitsu (Private Room)" (Maki Morishita), Jan. 23, 4 p.m. 3,000 yen in advance, 3,500 yen at the door.

"Showcase," video and performance held throughout the day, Jan. 22-30 (admission free).

"Solo x Duo Competition Plus," Jan. 27 and 28, 7 p.m.; Jan. 29 and 30, 3 p.m. 3,000 yen in advance, 3,500 yen at the door.

"Line," a Japan-France joint project directed by Veronique Caye based on Ryu Murakami's novella. Feb. 18, 7:30 p.m.; Feb. 19, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Feb. 20, 2 p.m. 4,000 yen in advance, 4,500 yen at the door, 2,000 yen for students.

"Gesicht und Geschichte" by Dance Company Nomade, March 24, 25 and 26, 7:30 p.m.; March 27, 3 p.m. 4,000 yen (advance) for reserved seats, 2,500 yen in advance, 3,000 yen at the door (for unreserved seats), 1,500 yen for students. Call 03-3828-4858.
