Up to 40 readers of The Japan Times and their friends or relatives are invited to attend regional kabuki plays on Feb. 5 and 6 at NHK Hall in Tokyo's Shibuya.
On Feb. 5, kabuki actors from Hitachi Omiya, Ibaragi Prefecture; Nakatsugawa, Gifu Prefecture; Nagato, Yamaguchi Prefecture and Ikeda, Kagawa Prefecture will perform 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.
On Feb. 6, kabuki actors from Agematsu, Nagano Prefecture; Sai, Aomori Prefecture; Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture and Shinjo, Aichi Prefecture, will perform 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Anyone interested must send a post office-issued ofukuhagaki (return postcard) to: The Japan Times-kakari, Zenkoku Furusato Kabuki Festival Jimukyoku, 7-6-704 Funamachi, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo 160-8555.
The sender should write their name, address (including the zip code), age, telephone number, the number of applicants (up to four) and the date of the performance they wish to attend (either Feb. 5 or 6, not both) on the back of the out-going side and self-address the front of the return side.
