Greek movies showcased at Keio

Screenings of and lectures on contemporary Greek movies will be held on Keio University's Mita campus next week in an event titled "A Message from the Center of the World."

The schedule is as follows:

Dec. 14, 2 p.m., "A Touch of Spice" (Tassos Boulmetis, 2003, 107 min., Japanese subtitles); 4 p.m., lecture by Voula Georgagakou, representative of the Greek Film Center, in English with Japanese interpretation.

Dec. 15, 3 p.m., "The King" (Nikos Grammatikos, 2002, 130 min., English subtitles); 5:20 p.m., lecture by Taro Nishimura, a professor at Keio University; 6:30 p.m.; "Totally Married" (Dimitris Indares, 2003, 80 min., English subtitles).

Dec. 16, 4 p.m., "Peppermint" (Costas Kapakas, 1999, 105 min., Japanese subtitles); 6 p.m., lecture by Junji Hori, Kansai University lecturer.

Admission free. Up to 220 people will be admitted on a first-come-first-served basis. The venue is Kitakan Hall on Keio University's Mita campus, a 9-min. walk from JR Tamachi Station.
