The Japan branch of Blue Diamond Almond Growers is offering almond seeds to anyone wanting to grow their own almond trees, which bear flowers similar to cherry blossoms.

Interested persons should send an envelope containing postal stamps to the value of 400 yen to: California Almond USA-kakari, c/o Shibuya Postal Office, zip 150-8088.

Senders must supply their name, address, age, occupation and telephone number. One person can send up to two envelopes. Envelopes must be postmarked no later than Dec. 24.

Six almond seeds with an explanation on how to grow them will be sent within three weeks of the deadline. The trees can be expected to start blossoming when they are 2 to 3 years old.
