Alegria big top is back in town

"Alegria 2," a new show presented by Cirque du Soleil from Quebec, Canada, will be touring Japan from Oct. 29.

Tokyo performances will be held in a circus tent at the Olympics Plaza at Tokyo's Kokuritsu Yoyogi Kyogijo through Jan. 23.

The original "Alegria," created in 1994, attracted 670,000 people in Tokyo and Fukuoka during a seven-month run in 1996.

Ticket prices range from 5,500 yen to 11,000 yen for adults, and from 3,500 yen to 7,500 yen for children. The show will also be held in Fukuoka (Feb. 9-April 3), Nagoya (April 20-June 12) and Osaka (June 26-Aug. 10). Tickets can be ordered by calling 0570-02-9999.
