Treat for Tokyo tea-lovers

Lovers of green tea can attend a sencha (non-powdered green tea) ceremony to be held on Oct. 23 at the Mukojima Hyakkaen botanical garden in Tokyo. Sencha master Etsuko Yoshida will serve tea and Japanese cakes.

The ceremony will be held at 3 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. in the Onari no Ma tearoom in the Onari Zashiki house in the gardens. Noh songs will be sung in the waiting room.

For reservation, call Ms. Yoshida at (047) 372-1332.

At the entrance to the garden, please say, "Ozashiki o shiyo shimasu," and you will be spared the 150 yen entrance fee.
