Chinese puppeteers put on show

The Quanzhou Marionette Troupe, China, from the port city of Quanzhou in Fujian Province, will present free performances Oct. 10-12 in Tokyo.

The shows will start at 3 p.m. on Oct. 10 and 11 and 7 p.m. on Oct. 12 in the basement of the Japan-China Friendship Center (Nitchu Yuko Kaikan) and be subtitled in Japanese.

In the center's art museum, the troupe's dolls will be on display 10 a.m.-5 p.m. through Oct. 24 (closed on Oct. 13 and 18). Admission free.

Quanzhou Marionette Troupe: 3 p.m. Oct. 10 and 11, 7 p.m. Oct. 12 at Japan-China Friendship Center (1-5-3 Koraku, Bunkyo-ku; tel. [03] 3815-5085), a 1-minute walk from Exit C3 of Iidabashi Station on the Toei Oedo Line or a 7-minute walk from the East Exit of JR Iidabashi Station.
