Artists as captured by Matsumoto

Images of well-known artists captured by the lens of pho- tographer Michiko Matsumoto over the past 30 years will be presented in an free exhibition Oct. 5-28 in Kyobashi, Tokyo.

"Sessions -- Portraits of Artists" will feature about 25 black-and-white photos of various artists, including Yoko Ono in 1974, sculptor and painter Niki de Saint Phalle in 1981, sculptors Lousie Nevelson and Louise Bourgeois in 1983, contemporary Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama in 1985, and sculptor Kiki Smith in 1993.

The exhibition will be open 10:30 a.m.- 6:30 p.m. (till 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays) Oct. 5-28 at Zeit Photo Salon (Matsumoto Bldg., 4F, 1-10-5 Kyobashi, Chuo-ku; tel. [03] 3535-7188, fax [03] 3535-7112).
